Dancer, artist, journalist, and human being are just a few words that describe Ms. Jourdan Cooper. Jourdan began dance training at the age of three in Wilmington Delaware. She went on to continuing her training at Cab Calloway School of Arts and Christina Cultural Arts Center. After moving to Washington, DC she went on to graduate from the Duke Ellington High School of Arts Dance program. By age 16 Jourdan began teaching and performing in the New York, Philadelphia and DC metropolitan areas. During her senior year at Duke Ellington, she was awarded the opportunity to write a published article featured in Black Dance Magazine. Upon graduating from Duke Ellington she went on to study Dance at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia PA and graduate from Marymount Manhattan College in New York City, NY. At age 18 she began her professional dance career by performing as a company member with Philadanco’s (Philadelphia Dance Company) second company in Philadelphia PA. By age 20 she began performing as a first company member in ASHA Dance Company in New York City. Jourdan, under the stage handle JNahtae, also wrote and recorded an electric 10-track album which featured two self-produced and directed music videos. Ms. Cooper currently works in academia as a professor of Dance Arts at Syracuse University. Soaring a strapping 5 foot 9 inches, Jourdan takes pride in her height and pays homage to pioneer amazonian female dancers such as Courtney Henry, Teresa Reichlen, and the tremendously influential Judith Jamison.

JNahtae is a multidisciplinary recording artist from the Philadelphia and Washington DC metropolitan areas. Her sound is a collective of R&B, Soul, Hip-Hop, and Jazz/Funk. JNahtae was brought up in an exceptionally artistic household. A few of her musical influencers are India.Arie, Jill Scott, Erykah Badu, Nina Simone, Anita Baker, Kem, and Yolanda Adams. In 2018 JNahtae released an electric 10-track studio album. JNahtae aspires to spread Peace through her music and Love with her words.
